After two years of art school it can be confronting how your style can change. At least, it has been confronting for me. I used to be someone that could lose herself in the tiniest detail and sit behind the computer (drawing digitally) for hours.
My last semester, I started to rediscover sketching. I was forced to be quick a couple times (for example at a museum, where I lost my classmates but still wanted to capture what I saw, so I had to be quick) and realised that these sketches actually revealed some kind of honesty. Something pure. They were made so fast that I didn't have time to thinks about them and that, I realised, was key. Every little drawing has a story of it's own. Every little drawing is a first impression of a real human being.
